OUR STORY
FOUNDED by veteran content producer, Eric Alan Donaldson, a group of Los Angeles based production creatives got together in 2013 to form a collective that provided scalable production services for Ad Agencies, Production Companies, Record Labels and Corporate Clients. By disrupting the system, they opened the door to a more diverse slate of directors and content creators. Out of this collective, a production services agency was born, 1987, named after the year our founder shot his first music video at his high school in Los Angeles. By leveraging their longstanding relationships with Casting Directors, Location Managers, Production Crews and Equipment Vendors, 1987 solves production challenges for their clients, from Los Angeles to New York, and everywhere in between. 1987 uses practical, cost-effective solutions without compromising safety or production value. At its core, this concept is simple, which is why we stand by it to this day.

OUR EXECUTIVE TEAM
Eric Alan Donaldson - Founder/Partner
Eric is a veteran media and content producer. His career spans over 30 years in media production; below the line, above the line and as an executive. He is known as a problem solver and “fixer.” As a young filmmaker, Eric was among a small group of action sports pioneers, whose videos showcased the top athletes of the day, exposed viewers to the emerging Southern California music scene and showcased brands such as Black Flys, Body Glove, Reef and Fleshgear. As the grandson of a jazz musician and composer, the ever present New Orleans jazz soundtrack playing in the background of his childhood home in Los Angeles truly shaped his life. Putting passion first, his award winning short documentary, Trombone Shorty, helped launch the career of the prolific artist by the same name. During Eric’s tenure, he has grown an independent network of media professionals and collaborators who develop and create original content, which elevates his client’s visibility and cultivates good humans worldwide.
Jennifer Hancock - Head of Production/Partner
Jennifer is an award winning producer who’s 14 year career in the entertainment industry began in Broadcast Television in North Carolina after receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design. In 2014 she moved to Los Angeles, opening the door to new opportunities as a Production Supervisor in advertising, Television and Feature Films. Her attention to detail, and knowledge of the business as a whole has won her contracts with global brands such as Eli Lilly, AB InBev, Aldi and Bank of America; and studios and networks such as Universal, Hulu, Netflix and ESPN.
Kendall Kiesewetter - Head of Post-Production
Kendall has spent the past 10 years working with ad agencies, start-ups, and production companies, creating content for a variety of global brands and networks. Her interest in filmmaking began at a young age, when she asked her parents to buy her a camcorder so she could create what she saw on TV. From that point on, she knew her calling was creating content. She began her professional career at Buzzfeed Motion Pictures, where she produced, directed, and edited media featured on their network, and on many other social media platforms. Kendall lives every day doing what she loves most, in hopes of inspiring others through her passion for the process.
